High Card is the 1st hand in the game. It is a one card hand that can be done by a single card, tossed out without a care. It has a base score of 5 chips and 1 mult. It is tied to the Pluto planet card which when used, gives 10 chips and 1 mult. It’s the only hand in the game that will always be im the players hand, as it only uses one card. It also is used to hit the e308 score with a combination of Baron, Mime and Red Seal steel Kings to break the score and be read as “naneinf“.

How To use and Deck fix for Them?
There are 2 ways to use High Card, as a tool to dig/spam or has the hand for your build. Out of the any of the hands, it feels the most like a tool to get what you want, via digging through your deck by dumping cards out that you don’t need to find the ones you do. It is also useful to spam for certain Joker effects like Vagabond for tarots or Reserved Parking when holding lots of face cards. It has great utility but very poor score when used this way.
As a hand for your build, it is heavily reliant on Jokers and deck fixing. Jokers that have held in hand effects or scaling are must haves. Because you can always have a High Card in your hand, it makes these Jokers the easiest to scale on this hand type. These become a heavy source of scoring in many runs.
Deck Fixing is primarily held in hand effects like Blue Seals, which will come in the most handy as High Card had the lowest base score of any hand. Steels and Gold are also a big help as you only need to play one card, thereby making you have potential room for up to seven cards of value in your hand. Making copies of these types of cards with Death helps a lot. Stone is also a viable option as chips can be hard to come by on some High Card builds.
It’s hard to pick the best decks that High Card is viable in since it’s both a tool and scoring option. As a tool then anywhere but as a scoring option, it’s hard to pick. My best bet would be Plasma as it’s one of the 2 decks commonly used for naneinf scoring runs.
Naneinf, as stated before is hitting a score of e308. After that the game cannot read it and so it becomes naneinf. This is not the limit however as by Ante 39, the score will hit -nan which is basically impossible to achieve by any means in the game. The existence of naneinf was a mistake according to the game’s developer LocalThunk but has become so iconic that he has decided to leave it in the game. There are a different ways of achieving naneinf but a majority or all of them involve some form of High Card and Baron Mime setup. There are many examples of people reaching this, one of my favourite examples being from RTGame on a seeded run.
Strengths And Weaknesses
• Great tool for digging, scaling and spamming
• Always available in your hand
• Can achieve naneinf
• Wide range of Utility
• Poor scoring
• Takes some fixing to be viable
• Is reliant most on Jokers and/or hand levels
